Old Punch Was Lonesome, So Bill Snyder Went Up-Country to Cheer Him Up.

Bill Snyder, head keeper of the zoo in Central Park, returned yesterday from his vacation, and surely never a man got two weeks off for a stranger reason than that which influenced Snyder to go up into Dutchess County. Robert Hurton, Bill's assistant, told the story late in the afternoon sitting in the hay house, where Snyder was preparing the food for Jewel and Hattie, the elephants.
